APS worked with the expert to create online training for foundational material that can be repeated and offered on demand. This allowed the expert’s core message to reach as any employees as needed, without extra drain on the expert. This freed up the expert’s time to focus instead on consulting and troubleshooting for the most challenging/unique concerns, and even to mentor an apprentice.

APS worked with a panel of experts to hone carefully vetted messages regarding changes to lifesaving EMS procedures and produced a media-rich eLearning course, complete with skill demonstration videos, explanations from the experts, and quiz questions to check understanding. All personnel take the same course to get the same message and to practice the same expected performance standards.

Emergency response to major events can span multiple jurisdictions and sometimes multiple departments, each with a unique mission but required to work together for the public good. Leadership needs to coordinate to make plans and then communicate a consistent message to all personnel.

APS works with subject matter experts and department representatives to discuss and consult until they reach consensus on core messaging. APS then develops a blended learning experience starting with a media-rich eLearning course to get personnel engaged and on the same page, including hands-on exercises to apply agreed principles to each agency’s mission and operating procedures.
